At KidsKnowBest, we speak to kids every day as part of our growing community. And throughout 2024, one topic kept surfacing again and again: money. Kids had a lot to say: how they feel, what they worry about, and what they wish adults understood.
So, at the start of 2025, we set out to explore the issue in depth. We surveyed 1,000 kids aged 7-14 from across the UK and conducted in-depth interviews to uncover their financial habits, stressors, and perspectives. What we heard was honest, eye-opening, and often emotional. The insights were so powerful, we were invited to present our findings at SXSW London in June 2025.
What we learned
46% of kids worry about money and their future
38% agree money causes them stress
87% show a clear preference for real-life money lessons over abstract or digital tools
What now?
We’ve gathered our findings in this report to help adults better understand how kids really feel about money - and what they need to feel more confident and prepared. Inside, you’ll find clear insights and actionable steps to support the financial wellbeing of the next generation.
Because when kids are talking about money, it’s time we listened.
